Search Engine Optimization

Even if you have a website, there's no guarantee that your website will be found online. To ensure your clients and customers can find you, you need to have an SEO strategy in place.

What's involved with SEO?

On-Site Optimizations

What are on-site optimizations?

When someone Google's for a service - let's say "Web Design in Kamloops" - it wouldn't make sense for Google to show that person results for Accountants in Kamloops.

Google's algorithm is determined to show you the most relevant information to your search term - and therefore, we need to ensure your website is telling Google exactly what your website is about.

We can tell Google about your website in two primary ways

1) Meta information. This is the information that you see when you Google something (see image). It's important to tailor this information to meet your keywords.

2) Headers and Text. The way you structure your website information can impact how Google reads it. Accurate use of Headings and Text, ensure Google knows exactly what your site is about.

What do I do after I've done my on-site optimizations?

Outreach and Link Building

How to outrank your competitors

If everyone uses correct onsite optimizations, then how does Google determine which website should show up first?

The honest answer is that nobody knows 'exactly' how Google's algorithm works, but great SEO providers can achieve great results using the following proven methods.

1) Social Proof - Having a Facebook page and other social media pages that link back to your website and regularly posting content, tell Google that your business is active.

2) Business listings - If your business is listed on Yellow Pages (a free listing is sufficient) and other business directory sites, then Google considers your business more legitimate.

3) Outreach - You can improve your ranking by getting more backlinks through connecting with bloggers, influencers, and creating your own content.

What to look out for

The 'Good to know' facts

What you 'shouldn't' do as part of an SEO strategy

There are proven ways to improve your overall rank on Google and other Search Engines. But there are also ways that 'definitely do' work, but could also get you in a lot of trouble. We recommend you keep away from these techniques.

One of these is called a 'Private Blogging Network' or PBN for short. A PBN is a network of websites and domains that are deliberately setup to create backlinks for other websites, with the purpose of drastically increasing the number of backlinks and boosting the site rank.

PBN's do work - but they work in the same way that a pyramid scheme works. It works great for the people at the top (SEO company) until you get caught. When Google catches you, you will lose all that domain authority you've built up over time and you'll be permanently blacklisted. Your website will take a beating, and the SEO company walks away with all the money you paid them to improve your ranking over many months and years, and you walk away back at square one.
